From Lauren Laverne on instagram to our friends at Tatty Devine on twitter, we’ve loved seeing fan photos of Viv Albertine’s Clothes, Clothes, Clothes. Music, Music, Music. Boys, Boys, Boys. Here’s a selection of one of Faber Social’s most popular book covers…
On Monday June 23 Faber Social are proud to present Julian Cope at The Tabernacle in support of his debut novel One Three One: A Time-Shifting Gnostic Hooligan Road Novel.
Julian will be reading from One Three One, signing and in conversation with former Faber Social artist-in-residence Andrew Weatherall. He will also be joined by Holy McGrail playing music from the soundtrack of One Three One, including the bands Neon Sardinia, Spackhouse Tottu and Spion Kop.
One Three One is a Gnostic whodunit that pursues readers’ memories of all previous fiction into a peat bog and impales them with seven-foot-long pikes.
Praise for One Three One:
‘A total skull fuck of a book, a hooligan saga of rave damaged psychic shipwrecks & mythic time travel. I couldn’t put it down.’ – Bobby Gillespie
‘The myths and legends of Rock, rock and rocks collide on a freak-strewn highway leaving the reader feeling like a back-seat passenger suffering psychic whiplash.’ – Andrew Weatherall
Where: The Tabernacle, 35 Powis Square, Off Portobello Road, Notting Hill, London, W11 2AY
When: Monday June 23 2014.

June 2014 sees the release of Julian Cope’s debut novel One Three One: A Time-travelling Gnostic Hooligan Road Novel. The novel features multiple bands and artists from the 1980s who in the course of time will become familiar to readers: Full English Breakfast, Spackhouse Tottu, Forest of Dean, and The Pitt Yacker MCs.
But to trail publication of his head-bendingly original first novel, Faber Social is thrilled to present to the world Rock Section, by the neglected (nay, forgotten) Baggy legends, Dayglo Maradona. Produced in an exclusive limited run of 250 copies for Rough Trade in white vinyl and a package which recalls Rock’s hero and England’s nemesis, Diego Maradona, this never-before-released version of the track features remixes by the Archdrude, Julian Cope, and Andrew Weatherall, Lord Sabre himself.
A Rave Monster has been unleashed upon the world. ‘Look on my works ye mighty, and despair!’
